Holly – Manager

Background: I have always had a love for animals, it seems to run in my family. My mom has 5 rats, 3 dogs, fish and birds, so I was raised in a zoo. I am originally from Calvert County, MD; but moved to Baltimore County two years ago when I transferred to the University of Maryland- Baltimore County. While in Calvert County I worked at numerous kennels and grooming facilities. I also worked and volunteered at the Humane Society for a little over two years. Currently, I have a wonderful shih tzu puppy, Autumn, who is my baby.

If I were a dog I would be: A shih tzu! I own one, my mom owns two and my aunt owns two. They are the cutest, most lovable, best dogs ever. My dog Autumn is amazing and I would love nothing more than to be another little shih tzu so I could run around with her.

Best thing about Sobo: Getting back into the dog business. When I first moved up to Baltimore County, I was not liking my job of being a waitress. Nothing makes me happier than being able to work with dogs again, because its something I truly love.

Background: I was born and raised with dogs, growing up with them as my best friends and constant companions through thick and thin. From a young age, my mother and I would bring home pups and dogs (from the streets or from previous owners) and foster them till we could find loving homes for them. I’ve also been involved in all types of obedience training since a young age. All of this has exposed me to a wide variety of dogs (as well as animals in general) and I’m so glad I picked SoBo Doggy Daycare as my first job!

If I were a dog, I’d be: An old dog. The kind that you can tell has lived a good, full life, and just enjoys being a senior; surrounded by the comfort of her family.

Best thing about SoBo?: The dogs, of course! Even on your worst day, you can’t help but smile and feel better when greeted with all those happy faces and wiggling butts. Working here, you get to know each dog individually; their likes, dislikes, their favorite toys and games, as well as their best buddies. It’s like anextension of my own family. I can’t help but love all our fur pals that come to visit.

Background: I grew up around all types of animals, I’m originally from Pasadena where I had horses, ducks, chickens and all sorts of animals until I moved to Baltimore. I was previously a veterinary technician before I found Sobo Doggie Daycare. I have a few rat terriers of my own. I love them all so much I don’t know what I would do without them. They will always have a special place in my heart. I spoil them all to death! I would like to take my career farther and attend school to be a Veterinarian, and be able to save animals lives. That’s the best feeling in the world, knowing you helped save an innocent animal.

If I were a dog, I’d be: A rat terrier, just like mine. They are just so cute and all they want to do is cuddle and be loved. I would love to be a rat terrier to just run around and play and live the good life, just like they do.

Best thing about SoBo? They gave me the chance to work with animals again, which is something I love. I don’t think I could see myself doing anything else! Everyone there is great! All of the staff is amazing and very caring. Also, I can’t forget about our wonderful customers, who make us who we are. Last but not least, the dogs! I love coming to work everyday and seeing all of their faces. They can always put a smile on my face no matter what.

Background: My family has always kept pets, like hamsters, fish, birds, and cats, around since I was a little girl. We got our first dog, Chance, when I was in elementary school. He was the happiest, most active puppy and continued to be the greatest dog up until his passing last year. I’m currently a proud owner of a beautiful tabby cat named Haze. I spoil her as if she were my only child! I’m originally from Calvert County, however, I moved to Baltimore in order to continue my education at Towson University. I’m majoring in Art Education while maintaining a job at a local pharmacy. I’m happy that SoBo has given me the opportunity to decorate their walls with such lively images as well as be apart of their staff! For the most part, all the animals that are apart of my life are what keep me smiling everyday :)

If I were a dog, I’d be: A puppy! Because they are so full of life and ready to explore whatever is around them.

Best thing about SoBo? I consider the best part of SoBo to be the wallspace! I’m lucky enough to be able to paint murals in many of the rooms, which allows me to express the artistic side of me and let other people (and dogs) enjoy it as well! Thank you Sobo!!

Background: I’m a Pre-Vet student at the University of Maryland. I recently moved to Baltimore from Marietta, GA, where I worked as a Veterinary Technician. I love everything about working with animals; from their medical care to getting to play with them!

If I were a dog, I’d be: A golden retriever. They love the company of both dogs and people, and are also generally playful and smart. They also enjoy both running around outdoors and chilling out inside. They always have a wagging tail!

Best thing about SoBo?: The fact that it is a daycare! It’s nice to get to play and love on the dogs for a change, instead of being the one poking and prodding them at the vet. I’d love the opportunity to perhaps do a little of both, but for now this is a fun way to relax after classes and homework and get to hang out with some great dogs!
